The first thing I will tell you guys-and this may dissapoint you- is that honestly I wasn´t a Michael´s super fan, but I need to recognize he had his good cualities. He was a great singer, an exceptional dancer and his natural charism was maybe one of the keys of his success, but I must tell you that I liked him before he had surgeries. I don´t even imagine what crossed through Mike´s mind when he thought he would look better if he changed his appearance....maybe he thought his fans would like him or love him even more....or maybe it was just a self-steem issue. Whatever it was, was a very powerful reason; powerful enough to make him make the decision of changing his physical appearance....yes, I know....you guys must be thinking: ¨Well, he passed away now, but instead of appreciate his memory she is criticizing him? He was the King of Pop!!! Is she CRAZY???¨ And yeah guys, YOU ARE RIGHT. I don´t desagree. I liked him when he was himself, when he didn´t try to be somebody else....let´s put it this way: it´s like the eagle that wanted to be a chicken....tried to do what chicken do but realized could do something better. Something that any chicken would had loved to do. That eagle could fly the endless sky. When she noticed that all she had to do was to recognize what she was and accept herself as she was she was free and open-minded enough to keep clear her identity. As simple as that. But anyways.....he was a wonderful person and had a lot of issues as any human being, but after all, his music was very good. He was the KING OF POP, and there are a lot of people that would had given their lives for Mike. I think Mike´s life was lonely, despite the fact he had ¨everything ¨. Maybe he was thirsty of simpathy. Maybe he just needed a little company, or someone who could provide him with the support he wished he could have.....maybe he was just another lonely star.....
But Mike, I give you the merit you deserved. You were a star since your childhood. You were an example to follow for kids and grown-up people. You were an inpiration for men, women, teachers, lawyers, doctors, police officers, students......Your charism will never be forgotten. You were young and extremely patient to deal with bad intentioned comments and lies that sometimes were really a waste of time to think about them....but I´m sure that NOBODY ELSE will be like you were. There will never be another ¨thriller¨ like you were, and the efforts you made alive are being rewarded in the very sad episode of your death. I will always like the way you could win people´s appreciation. Without nothing else to say.....I just will say....you will always be reminded as THE KING OF POP.

In everyday English, we normally use much / many only in questions and negative clauses.
Example:

Carla does not have many friends.
In positive clauses with so, as or too, we also use much / many.
Example:

She has as many friends as Sue.

In all other positive clauses, however, we prefer expressions like a lot of / lots of.
Example:
Carla has a lot of / lots of friends.
Kevin has a lot of / lots of money.
In formal texts, however, much / many are also common in positive clauses. This you will notice for example when you read English news.
Countable / Uncountable Nouns
In connection with much / many people often speak of countable nouns and uncountable nouns.
Countable nouns have a singular and a plural form. In plural, these nouns can be used with a number (that's why they are called 'countable nouns'). Countable nouns take many.
Example:

Uncountable nouns can only be used in singular. These nouns cannot be used with a number (that's why they are called 'uncountable nouns'). Uncountable nouns take much.

PRESENT PERFECT vs. PAST SIMPLE

1. THE PROBLEM
Ana is having a problem with English tenses. She decides to ask a teacher, Bob, if he can help her.
Ana: Bob, I have a problem. Can you help me?
Bob: Sure. What's the matter?
Ana: I don't know when to use "I saw" and "I've seen." I know there's a difference, but I can't figure out what it is. Do you know?
Bob: Oh, yes. That's really quite easy. Let me try to explain it.
Ana: Great!
Bob: OK. Have you studied this before?
Ana: Yes, a little.
Bob: When did you study it?
Ana: Last week. Is that important?
Bob: It's very important. My first question was a general one, so I used the Present Perfect, "have you studied?" My second question was more specific, asking you WHEN, so I used the Past Simple, "when did you study?"
Ana: So the time is important?
Bob: Yes. The time makes all the difference. When you're not interested in when something happened, or if you don't know, you use the Present Perfect. However, if the time is important, or if you know when something happened, use the Past Simple.
Ana: Can you give me another example?
Bob: Of course. Have you ever driven a bus?
Ana: No, I haven't.
Bob: Have you ever eaten pizza?
Ana: Yes, I have.
Bob: When did you last eat pizza?
Ana: I ate pizza a few days ago.
Bob: Now do you see the difference?
Ana: Hmmm. Yes, I think I understand now.
Bob: Either you're a very good student or I'm an excellent teacher!

2. THE EXPLANATION
Bob certainly IS a good teacher! His explanation was very clear. When the time of a past event or action is stated or understood, we use the Past Simple. When the past event or action is more important than the time when it happened, we use the Present Perfect. Look at these examples:
a) I've flown a plane. Do you know when?
b) Ana has finished her exercise. Do we know when?
c) Ivan went to a concert last night. Do we know when?
d) My parents bought a new house last year. Do we know when?
e) Mike has read this chapter three times. Do we know when?
Answers:
a) NO
b) NO
c) YES
d) YES
e) NO
In examples a) and b) the action or event is more important than the time when it happened. In c) and d) the time is important (it must be important because it is stated in the sentence). In e) we only know that it has happened three times, but we don't know exactly when those three times were.
3. THE RULES
The Past Simple is used to express a past action or event when the time is either mentioned or understood by both speakers. Usually in conversation, if one speaker has mentioned a past time, the other speaker does not repeat it. For example:
Ana: What did you do last night?
Ivan: I went to a concert.
The present perfect is used to express past actions or events when the time is either not known or is not important. The event or action is the important element in the sentence.
a) Bob has visited several countries in Europe.
b) Ana has ridden a motorcycle.
In both cases the events are more important than the time.
NOTE: We do NOT use specific time expressions with the Present Perfect. We cannot say, for example, "I have eaten spaghetti yesterday."
4. PRACTICE
Tell the class about things you have done, but DON'T say when you did them.
Examples: I've seen "Titanic" seven times.
I've written a lot of poems.
I've given blood.
Now tell the class WHEN you did certain things.
Examples: I saw my brother last weekend.
I watched TV last night.
I studied French when I was in high school.
5. EVER/NEVER
Ever and never are used with the Present Perfect. Ever means "at some time in the past," and never means "at no time in the past."
Examples: Have you ever eaten snails?
I have never broken my arm.
Has your mother ever shouted at you?
My sister has never read Shakespeare.
6. PRACTICE
Ask another student a question with "Have you ever…?" If the answer is "Yes, I have," ask a second question with "When did you…?"
Examples: A: Have you ever drunk whisky?
B: Yes, I have.
A: When did you drink whisky?
A: Have you ever flown in a plane?
B: Yes, I have.
A: When did you fly in a plane?

Guatemalan singer/songwriter Ricardo Arjona is one of the more respected Latin artists, mostly for his social conscience and his integrity in writing and performing songs. Born in Antigua, he was interested in music from an early age but later decided to become a rural schoolteacher. He also played basketball for the Guatemalan national team, but continued to play his guitar and write songs in his spare time. After realizing that music was his one true love, he moved to Mexico City; once there, he began looking for a record contract and played at many student festivals, increasing his status as a protest singer.

Arjona finally found a contract through PolyGram, but the label attempted to market him as a Latin-lover type on his debut album, Dejame Decir Que Te Amo ("Let Me Say I Love You"). Predictably, the album failed, and Arjona spent the next five years teaching and occasionally writing songs recorded by other artists. He moved to Buenos Aires, began playing again, and soon returned to the recording sphere with material more suited to his experiences as a protest singer: namely, "Jesus Verbo No Sustantivo," a controversial song about his experiences at a Catholic school as a child. It gained him a contract with Sony, which released many of his most popular albums, including Animal Nocturno.
